Section one
Privacy Policy
What Baby Namely does with your information, in plain language
Baby Namely is made by The Wee Company (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information you put into the app.
The short version: Baby Namely has no servers and no internet connection. Everything you type stays on your device. We never receive it, and we could not read it if we wanted to.
What Baby Namely stores
Baby Namely keeps the following on your device so the app works between launches:
- The qualities you choose to wish for
- The names on your shortlist
- Your due date, if you choose to add one
- The names and relationships of household members, if you choose to add them
That is all of it. There is no account, no sign-in, and nothing to register.
What Baby Namely sends
Nothing. The app contains no networking code and links no networking frameworks. It does not call a server, load remote content, or check in on launch. Every reading, score and suggestion is calculated on your device from a name list bundled inside the app.
Because nothing is transmitted, Baby Namely does not “collect” data in the sense used by Apple’s App Privacy questionnaire, and our App Store listing reports “Data Not Collected”.
What Baby Namely does not do
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage measurement
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No tracking, and no sharing of data with third parties for tracking
- No third-party SDKs of any kind
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or health data access
Children
Baby Namely is intended for adults choosing a name for a child. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly gather information from anyone. The app stores information about a child only in the sense that you may type a name and a due date, and that information never leaves your device.
Your control over your information
Because your information exists only on your device:
- To see it: open the app.
- To change it: edit or rename entries, or change your wishes.
- To delete it: swipe a name away, or delete the app. Deleting Baby Namely removes everything it stored.
- To take it elsewhere: use Send the list to export a readable file.
There is nothing for us to look up, correct, export or erase on your behalf, because we hold nothing.
Legal bases and your rights
If you are in the UK, EU, or another region with data protection law such as the GDPR, note that we are not a data controller for anything you type into Baby Namely: it is processed solely on your device, under your control, and never transmitted to us.
Residents of California and other US states with privacy statutes: we do not sell or share personal information, because we do not receive any.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.

Section two
Terms of Use
The agreement for using Baby Namely
These terms are an agreement between you and The Wee Company (“we”, “us”) for your use of the Baby Namely app. By using Baby Namely you accept them. If you do not accept them, please delete the app.
What Baby Namely is, and what it is not
Baby Namely applies Pythagorean numerology, a traditional system that assigns numbers to letters, to names you type, and reports the result alongside editorial writing about what each number is said to mean.
Baby Namely is for entertainment and reflection. It is not advice. Numerology has no scientific basis, and nothing in the app predicts or determines a child’s character, health, abilities or future. Readings, scores, star ratings and suggestions are the output of a fixed arithmetic rule applied to spelling, not a judgement about any person.
Baby Namely does not provide medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. The optional due date is used only to derive a Life Path number; it is not a health record and the app does not interpret it medically. Consult a qualified professional for any decision that matters to your health or your family’s.
Choosing your child’s name is your decision alone.
Your content
Names, dates and household details you enter remain yours. They stay on your device; we do not receive, store or claim any right to them. See the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for what you type, including names of other people you add as household members, and for anything you choose to share out of the app.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law
- Use Baby Namely to harass, impersonate or profile anyone
- Redistribute or resell the app or its bundled content as your own
The name lists
Baby Namely includes lists of popular given names and their common diminutives, derived from public-domain sources. Provenance for individual entries is available on request at our contact address. These lists are descriptive, not exhaustive, and reflect one dataset from one country; the absence of a name means nothing about that name.
The app’s typefaces, Instrument Serif and Karla, are used under the SIL Open Font License; their licences ship with the app.
Availability
Baby Namely works offline and requires no service from us to function. We may release updates, change features, or stop distributing the app. We do not guarantee that any particular feature will remain, or that the app will be free of defects.
Disclaimer and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Baby Namely is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Where we are permitted to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, we limit it to resupplying the app or paying the cost of resupply.
Otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of Baby Namely. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. You may have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.
App Store terms
Baby Namely is distributed through the Apple App Store, and your use is also subject to Apple’s terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and is not a party to these terms, though Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries with the right to enforce them against you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts of Australia have jurisdiction, save that if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
Changes
We may update these terms. The current version will always be posted at this address with the date above. Continuing to use Baby Namely after a change means you accept it.
